Construction and Leasing Update
Mild winter weather has helped speed construction progress on Helix, our first urban apartment community, and 555 Belaire, our second office building. Cranes of various sizes have been jostling for space along Belaire Avenue, workers have been swaying glass window panels into place on the office building and the urban space of Summit Pointe is being clearly defined. Both projects are on schedule for mid-summer occupancy, supercharging Chesapeake’s CBD with even more activity and excitement.
State of the City 2020, An Update
Summit Pointe Realty, LLC presented a progress report at Chesapeake’s State of the City 2020 event on Friday, February 28. The presentation, made by Chris Williams, Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management of Dollar Tree, Inc., covered construction progress made over the past year and welcomed businesses to join the Summit Pointe community.
“At Dollar Tree, we are settled into our stunning 12-story state-of-the-art tower and have just broken ground on a second 1,500-car parking deck to be completed later this year,” Williams shared. “We are proud to welcome businesses from across the world to our new store support center and introduce them to Coastal Virginia’s newest Central Business District.“
“As a Chesapeake native, I am proud and excited about the progress thus far and hope you are too. As we move through the summer, we invite you to visit and experience Summit Pointe,” said Williams.
555 BELAIRE, A Five-Star Business Experience
Rapid progress has been made on 555 Belaire since the building’s steel erection was completed in October 2019. Since then, we have seen the installation of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, one of the office tower’s signature design features. Another signature feature is the building’s two-story atrium lobby whose soaring spaces and dramatic angles are now clearly visible.
Now that these design features have taken shape, leasing activity has greatly increased. The Summit Pointe hard hats have been in almost continuous use as the curious and the serious tour the building with our Colliers International leasing agents.
