Chef Eric Nelson Gets Creative with
neat bird at Summit Pointe

We are thrilled to announce that neat bird has leased 4,000 square feet at 565 Belaire Avenue. The restaurant is the next creative platform for Chef Eric Nelson of crudo nudo in Norfolk. He describes the neat bird concept as “the perfect combination of the things that most of us crave all the time: fried chicken (done right), whiskey simple (and also a full bar), fresh salads and vegetables (because everything won’t be fried), and sandwiches that aren’t boring (we get creative). The people of neat bird (the staff and the guests) are the kind of people we crave all the time too: hospitality driven, casual, family-like and friendly. neat bird is going to be the kind of place that you want to hang out and tell your friends about. The kind of place you come after work (or during work, for lunch). It’ll be a break from the boring with the creature comforts of a menu that you can enjoy dining in or bringing home. The atmosphere and music will be equally as creative. And, a large patio will provide additional opportunities for outdoor dining. If you’ve been to crudo nudo in Norfolk, you’ll be excited to know that it’s from the same brain – with a totally different spin.”

Green Dragon Triptych

SCULPTURE INSTALLATION

Summit Pointe’s newest art installation, Green Dragon Rhythm by Rob Lorenson, is an urban streetscape sculpture. His metal work is an expression of form, space and place making. For Rob, every space is a new challenge, and every client is a new friend. This new sculpture provides visual engagement as well as cultural and social value. It has been installed on the plaza at 555 Belaire.

NEXT ON THE DRAWING BOARD: VISTA

If you’ve driven by Summit Pointe lately, you’ve probably seen the six-story Mosaic apartment building rising quickly. The foundation of the third block at Summit Pointe will include a total of 270 apartments. Mosaic, with 167 apartments, is scheduled to deliver in November 2022, and the next construction will be Vista, a second apartment building on that same block with 103 units. Vista will offer a new product at Summit Pointe, and eight residences are designed as two-story lofts with street-level access. The shared courtyard amplifies an urban lifestyle with a resort-style swimming pool, lap pool with infinity edge, cabanas, firepits, dog walk and dog-wash station.

EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION AWARDS

Summit Pointe was recently awarded two Awards of Excellence by Associated Builders and Contractors at its 8th Annual Construction Awards. 555 Belaire was acknowledged in the commercial category, and Helix was acknowledged in the residential multi-family category. Our congratulations to the team including Clancy & Theys Construction Co.; Saunders & Crouse Architects; Speight, Marshall & Francis P.C., Kimley-Horn, Hickman-Ambrose, Inc. and Pace Collaborative P.C. engineers; and all of the ABA VA members.
